Getting out and about !! Linking our learning to what is around us. Making sense of our world! Today we had a trip to the canal. In humanities we have been finding out how the canal would have been built by navvies in the 1700's. We saw the bridges and locks, looked for local wildlife in the canal habitat and had a good discussion about the environment and pollution. How the canals are used today for recreation and keeping us fit, whilst being aware of Safety by the water! Have a listen to one of the navvy shanties the children wrote the lyrics for. We found this hard but we persevered!! We learned some new dribbling and passing skills in Hockey today and had some fun and frustration!! A great start to the year with some Team Games!! Improving our collaboration skills! Working together and developing TRUST. We have had lots of fun this week, getting to know one another and enjoyed some tennis and team-building activities outdoors. Have a look at our slideshow below.
